Think of it in the following way.

Shogun was a direct target due that his profile was available straight on the surface.Getting rid of public names, allows the survival of a community such as WoM2.

The overall idea is as such.....

The legal matters between Shogun and GameForge went on for years and years of strikes and warnings.
Not only that, but Wom2 was particularly targeted because in all these years it stole 100k+ players from the original metin2.

Not only it would take years to get even close to be legally persecuted, but also a lot more than just 3k / 4k players online.
It's fair enough to assume we can YOLO without fears.
