Do Hermits work with soul stones?

Just as the title says, could someone please confirm if soul stones work with hermits?
As stated on the itemshop description it says soul stones are also affected by hermits too. If they are affected, does that mean we can get grandmaster <28 tries?

The Soulstone system is a bit more complicated than Skillbooks.
So this is how it works:

I dont know the exact numbers for this, so the numbers listed here are just an example to explain how this works!

Let's say from G1 to G2:
You have 5 Hats. Under 4 Hats, there are dead losses, under 1 Hat there is the succesful Soulstone.
When you read the Soulstone, you take 1 Hat away, so you either get the succesful Soulstone or 1 dead loss.
If you get the dead loss, there will only be 4 Hats left, 3 of those will still be dead losses, you get the idea i guess.

When using Hermits, the starting number of the Hats will be reduced by the effective amount of 2.5 times, thats what the hermit multiplier is set to.

So short answer for this:
Yes, hermits do apply to Soulstones - just in a different way.

EDIT:

To explain why this differs from Skillbooks:
Skillbooks have a set succes rate - so technically the books can not fail since this rate multiplied by 2.5 is higher than 100%.
Soulstones do not have this set rate, but will at some point inevitably NOT fail, since there are no more dead losses left to get to the next Grandmaster stage.
